Okay so yesterday I started overcoming my Slobness (yes I think I just made that word up)! Well I had two main tasks yesterday and well I failed at one of them! I had to wash my dishes in the middle of the day and then at night before bed! Well I am also a Scentsy consultant so I had a Scentsy party last night and by the time I got home I fell out on the couch and left my kitchen in a bad state!
So to hopefully counteract that I did all the dishes first thing in the morning and I will wash any from the day tonight before bed! Also I have been making sure to put any and all dishes we use today directly in the sink and not leave them lying around! So didn't do well yesterday but I will do good today! So jump in with us and get to it! Also don't forget you can read more about getting rid of your Slobness and www.aslobcomesclean.com !
So on the later other than my dishes what have I been working on today well that is the kids rooms, I found them each a new set of sheets at Ross for $8.99 each! $16.00 for two sets of sheets (well a little more) that is fabulous so I cleaned rearranged and yes took all blankets and stuff friends out of their rooms to be washed! I will be washing all night but I am doing this because we have been sick well the kids have been so sick around here I am trying to disinfect everything I can to try to get rid of the yuckies in our house! Well Hope all of you are having a great day! Join us in our time of cleaning!

A Proverbs 31 Woman!
Okay, so I will admit I am a person who likes to stay up late sleep in, could leave dishes in the sink till we run out before washing and just lazy when it comes to house work! There are so many other things I want to be doing such as playing with my kids, or doing crafts! Well on the flip side of that I also wish so badly to be like my bestie and have a super clean home that you could walk in anytime unannounced and when she said oh I am so sorry for the mess she means, I have a few dishes in the sink but other than that her house is in perfect condition!
Seeing as how those things are pretty much opposites I have had and internal and external struggle for years I have tried countless lists and baskets and do this and do that sites and nothing has worked mostly because I am an all or nothing kind of person! For instance if I am going to dust I can't just dust one room and get it clean I have to do the whole stinking house and then on top of that I am very much unfocused so while dusting I will see that the weeds are coming up between the stones on the patio so I will set the duster down mid dusting and grab the weed killer and go do that then while spraying the weeds I see the yard could use a mowing so I set the weed killer down and grab the mower and start that! Other than mowing the yard by the end of the day I will have spent every minute of my day doing something but nothing looks to be done! Well no more!
I am starting today well yesterday actually doing two different get your home organized in a month e books! One is 28 days to an organized home and it is over at www.aslobcomesclean.com and the other is 31 days to a Martha cleaned home the Mary way! I feel like I really do need to do this in baby steps and I need to write about it for all the world to see so it will keep me accountable hopefully it can also be helpful to other moms who feel this way as well! So if you want to join along with me do so I would be so happy for you too!
First e-book I suggest is Nony's over at www.aslobcomesclean.com it is only like 4 bucks I think I know it is great deal and if you are a person who is just starting and you feel overwhelmed it is just perfect for you! Anyway my task for today is Dishes to wash them right now and then to also wash them before bed! I have already washed all the dishes in my home right now but I have a scentsy party tonight so since my kiddos will be home with daddy tonight I know there will be much more to wash this evening! Well jump in where you are and have a fabulous clean dish day!

My Menu For The Week with Snacks and Other Thoughts!

Hello everyone, happy Monday, I really am glad it is monday. I have to say this weekend was so busy that my house is not up to par and so I have a lot of work today to get back in order. But I love Mondays because it is so calm and quiet in my house. The weekends are great because my husband is home with no work to do, and because of his commute we don't get to spend much time together during the week and also both of my kids are home because my daughter doesn't have school on the weekends obviously. It is a big ball of crazy loud fun around here. But then Monday morning my daughter off to school and my husband off to work and it is just me and my little one and it is so peaceful around here. I love to just take a moment to sit down on the couch, close my eyes and listen to my little playing quietly and just bask in the moments. Well that being said I guess I need to move on to my menu for this week!
Last week was my first menu plan and we did wonderful only missed one day and that was because my husband ended up having a draft for the little league team his dad and him are coaching. The kids and I just snacked instead of fixing a big dinner. This week my menu plan is not so specific to what day we will eat it beacuse I did feel like when I had it on my menu board I was stuck just having that for the evening although I am fully capable of changing it I don't know why I didn't. Anyhoo I made a list of things we will be eating this week and then I will have it on my board and I can choose which one sounds good for the night. Also this week and hopefully this afternoon I am going to be making some snacks for the kids and so I have listed those at the bottom.
Lastly I have decided that I will be starting a challenge for all of my readers just a weekly challenge. We have been talking in church lately about service and serving others as a part of our making disciples that we are working on rather than just being people who come to church, sit in the blue chairs and hear a good sermon and go home. Anyhoo I have always loved to serve (and I don't mean food although that was what I did yesterday for my service project) but I really have a heart to serve and so I want my children to have that love to serve people as well and know how important it is. I decided that I am going to work on doing a small service project everyweek and either have my kids do the same or have a project for them as well. So here is where the challenge comes in. I will have a new tab for these challenges and I hope that you will come and take part with us in the challenges as well. Well I will talk more about that on the challenge page so after you check out my menu for the week hop on over and check out our challenge this week.
Menu for the week:
Swiss Steak
A creamy chicken and rice casserole (no canned cream of chicken or mushroom used)
Tator Tot Casserole (crockpot food so easy)
BBQ Pork Sandwiches (Crock pot food )
Spagetti (my daughters favorite and she has been begging for over a week now)
Snacks for the week:
blueberry or Blackberry granola bars (peanut free)
Poptart Bites
Fruit Leather

My Space For the Challenge: Garage

Join Us For The Challenge Here!!
Okay so you could call me brave for posting before pictures of my horrible space and you could say what will people think you after seeing this. Well First things first I can admit I have hoarding tendencies but in the same sentence I can tell you when I start organizing a space I don't have a problem throwing things away, giving things away or selling things. I have three spaces in my house well on our property that are horrible, a hutch room upstairs that has become a junk room, our shed in our back yard and then the space I chose the Garage. I chose the garage because of the three spaces that are dissorganized and full up yuck and junk this space is the space that we really need to be functional right now.
We live in Texas so it isn't snowing all the time but because we have warm days and cold nights we end up with frost on our cars or ice on the windows and it is not fair to my husband that we have a perfectly nice garage but he can't park his car in it. So without further wait the horrible pictures. Also I have written down my plan of attack and I am putting it down at the bottom under the pictures.
Okay here it is my horiible space and among all of this junk and clutter are three couches, a queen size bed, and a coffee table. Oh yes and also a lounge chair and a dryer. There is also an assortment of kids clothes that they have outgrown and a lot of recycle this is a problem because we get one recycle bin and if it doesn't fit with the lid closed then they won't take it so the recycle is from birthday's and christmas. Okay look below to see my plan of attack.
Plan of Attack
1. The function of this space is going to be to store our cars and to have a small locker/mudroom type area, and then two stand up cabinets with plastic bins for storage of extra school supplies, extra cleaning supplies, party supplies and other things that I can't think of now.
2. I plan on trying to sell most of the larger items in hopes of funding this organizing project. I am going to try to sell the three couches, dryer, coffee table, bed and chair. I have much more junk I will put in the bulk pick up next week.
3. Things this space needs well it is a finished garage but there is no paint so I am planning on painting it just white or cream. But I also plan of adding a chalkboard space for the kids to use in the summer or on rainy days. I don't have any storage so i will have to buy the cabinets and I am going to try to make the locker/ mud room area.
4. What do I need to change about myself to keep this from happening in this space again. Well first I have to keep up with the house work because this all happend because my house would be a disaster and people would be comming over and so I would run around the house with a bag, a box or basket and fill it up and throw it into the garage. Second I have a horrible love for cute baskets and containers and things I really don't need. I just need to make sure that I am very focused on my purchases and have a use for them before I buy them.
5. My budget is very small maybe $50 could be more if I can sell some of the furniture, but if it doesn't sell pretty quickly I will just be donating it so to have it out of my house or free cycling it.
6. My timeline is that I am going to commit to 30 minutes per day out there, on the weekends I am hoping to get an hour if I can. If the kids will let me and also if the weather will permit. Since I live in Texas and it has been 73 degrees the past couple of days I am hoping for a few more of those days so I can really get moving. Also we have 29 days to do it which I think will be so great because I have cleaned my garage 2 or 3 times before but I have just done it in a weekend and I think doing it more slowly and really purging stuff will help me to keep it the way it needs to be. Also I would like to have it done by them because my sons birthday is the 28th and I want to have his birthday party the next week and we could really use the space.
To everyone who is jumping in and joining us on this journey I hope it is a great journey for you I know we will have such a sense of peace after this part of our journey is done.

My very first Menu plan Monday!!
Hello to all in blogland. This is not only my very first day menu planning but my first day in the blogesphere as well. My blog is not quite complete on everthing I want on it but it is a work in progress. I am working on organizing my life my home and my family! My goal (because I don't like the word resolution) is to get my home and daily runnings of my home done and going in smooth order by the end of the year.
That being said I am working in baby steps first being menu planning. My menu is very simple and I will work on getting a recipe section on this here blog but I am starting by just planning M-F dinners. Right now my daughter eats breakfast and lunch at school and so my son and I just kind of wing it so I am starting with our main family meal dinner and will be working on getting an entire menu planned over the next few months. Thanks for taking the time to read my craziness and have a great monday!!
Monday:
Slow Cooker Honey Sesame Chicken
Tuesday:
Smothered Steak
Wednesday:
Chicken and rice (without using and canned cream of chicken or cream of mushroom)
Thursday:
Shrimp and Polenta
Friday:
Chicken Tacos
I hope all of you wonderful ladies have a great time cooking this week. I will work on getting the recipe's up soon. You will find throughout my recipes that I try to cook as much as possible from scratch. I havn't ventured into making my own cheese, yogurt, sour cream or mayo yet so those things I still buy from the store!
